Before Lucozade became a sports energy drink it was a
medicine used for mainly children, it was created in the UK and was sold all
over Britain, he made it out of glucose syrup to provide energy to the ill. It
used to be named ‘glucozade’ until 1929 when they changed it to Lucozade.
In the advert ‘Lucozade aids recovery’ in 1979, it is showing a boy who wakes up and looks straight out of the window at his friends waving and shouting at him to come and play football outside, and his mum comes in and shakes her head and puts him back to bed and gives him a glass of Lucozade, whilst the boy is drinking it he then waves at his friends to come in with a big smile on his face showing the viewer that it is tasty. This is targeting the ill and advertising Lucozade as medicine to recover the poorly, making them better once it is drank. In the background you can hear the music, and it is very joyful advertising Lucozade to be a good part of recovery.
From the ‘Lucozade aids recovery.’
To the Lucozade for sport you can see very clearly that one of them is for the
ill to make them better and the other one is for the sporty people to give them
energy. Due to the way they have advertised them both. I think that the sport
Lucozade was advertised better because it was showing the viewer how before
drinking Lucozade your performance is poor (red light) and then after drinking
it, it is much improved (green light).
This is a more recent advert
advertising Lucozade, it is showing many different people ranging from
hairdressers to gym members who are doing abnormal things for example the gym
member notices a girl and falls off the running machine but goes straight into
push ups, and the hairdressers are doing clever tricks with the equipment they
are using, this is good advertising as it is showing the viewer, Lucozade can
range from people who don’t do much activity to people who do constant
activity.
